Texas for Lawsuit Reform (TLR) is one of the biggest perpetrators of the Austin swamp.

What started with a noble goal in the mid-1990s, to rein in Texas’ civil courts, has morphed into a 30-year entity at war with conservative values.

TLR’s PAC donated millions of dollars to Democrats, so we shouldn’t be surprised that TLR impedes conservative policy outcomes.

Instead of protecting you by advocating for conservative policies, TLR protects big business, big pharma, and big insurance. TLR appears to have abandoned its original goals and now, more often than not, fights against the best interests of Texans.

Despite the many millions donated to Democrats, TLR’s donations to so many RINOs, and others, affords it an astounding influence with Republican lawmakers. So much influence that we believe many legislators “trusted” TLR, without closely studying the policy outcomes TLR sought to advance. The many millions of dollars in campaign contributions buy TLR an exaggerated influence in the Texas Legislature.

At RATLR, we believe TLR has lost its way. Protecting big business, big pharma, and big insurance should never override protecting you, Texas’ citizens. Will you join us and tell your elected officials to reject Texans for Lawsuit Reform’s harmful policies?

Texas for Lawsuit Reform (TLR) is one of the biggest perpetrators of the Austin swamp. Their Political Action Committee (PAC) has donated over $6,000,000 to Democrats. Millions more have gone to RINOs who actively oppose conservative policy. Take a deeper look at some of the Democrat recipients of TLR’s money.

Texas law states that when a semi-truck driver can’t read or speak English and crashes his 60,000-pound semi into you or your loved ones, the jury automatically learns the driver doesn’t know our language. In 2025, Texans for Lawsuit Reform (TLR) tried to change the law to stop juries from automatically learning when a semi-truck driver can’t read or speak English.

In 2025, Texans for Lawsuit Reform (TLR) wrote and tried to pass a bill that made it illegal for a victim of harm to speak about or even hint at their family values, religious values, or community values in Texas courts when someone injures them or kills a family member.
